Hey there, I'm Jessica

Let's get personal...

Many know me as Jesi, others as Jess.  I'm an optician/optometric technician for my grown up job,  and have been known to stop random strangers on the street and compliment their eyewear... often.  I am a complete optical nerd; nerd in general. I'm a chronic over-sharer thanks to my ADHD; I obsess over detail - potentially a little OCD; I'm obsessed with documentaries, learning, and I love all things beautiful.  I love to draw, paint, create, design, rearrange, and my latest love are plants...they've become an escape, and a way to remain grounded.  I have three children that are 20, 16 and 2.  They are the light that gives me purpose and direction and the determination to make each day better, and to never stop improving.  I hope to show them if nothing else that if you frame your mindset you can achieve anything.

More than just about anything, I know what it means to feel vulnerable, uncomfortable or nervous in front of the camera.  I also know what it feels like when you feel you haven't reached a cycle of your life you want to reflect proudly.  You want to lose 10 more pounds; get a haircut; or, you just feel like you haven't reached the right milestone.  Everyone has something that makes them unique.  Some are already acutely aware, others need a little more guidance.  I'm here to help you rediscover your essence with undeniable consciousness.  I believe every moment is worth reflecting, no matter how big or how small, especially those you aren't expecting or attempting perfection.

Essence in Philosophy

When researching essence, I discovered the symbols that represent The Essence of Life.  I was brought to tears when I was lead to the spiral, typically representing the negative associating thoughts and actions that trigger a domino effect of negativity.

In deeper symbolism, the spiral connects our essence through each of life's cycles; it grounds us through each transition we pass through.  I don't believe transformation is starting a new life.  I believe it is rediscovering your essence that has been there all along and having the courage to live in alignment with who you are.

I frequently joke I am the Jesi of all trades, master of none as both my career fields and hobbies have taken me all over the spectrum.  I've worked in veterinary and horse racing, well over a decade in all facets of elderly care, volunteer firefighter and EMT, and for the last decade my career has led me to opticianry where I help people fall in love with their eyewear.  My ADHD, my desire to learn, and my passion to serve has led me to explore many fields, but humans remain the central focus of every passion that has ever driven me.  I strive to give my patients and clients the best possible experience;  I will move mountains to meet their needs and not stop until they love their results.  The center of my optical world and my photography world is my passion for helping people not just like their reflection, but love their reflection.
